The Canadian Limousin Association (CLA) is proud to have Limousin branded RFID tags available to assist both purebred Limousin breeders and commercial cattlemen using Limousin bulls in identifying and marketing their Limousin influence calves. The Limousin RFID tags are manufactured by two suppliers, Allflex and more recently a ComfortEar option offered by Datamars. They are distinguished by their unique pink coloured back with an "L" icon and Canadian maple leaf.
Tag buyers must qualify under one of the following criteria:
All orders of Limousin tags placed by a producer will be kept pending for approval by the Canadian Limousin Association before being released. CCIA tags are issued by premise and not by ownership of cattle. Please order Limousin tags using the same contact information as what you have used in the past from your previous official tag supplier(s).
Canadian Limousin Association members can add value for their bull buyers by taking advantage of the tag gift certificate program. The gift certificates provide an incentive for customers to purchase your bulls or make a nice thank you gift for your customers. Members can choose to pay all or a portion of their bull customer's Limousin tag order with the gift certificate. This is a popular way of thanking bull buyers for their purchase and to introduce new customers to the Limousin tag program. Please contact the CCIA to order a Gift Certificate.
The CLA has a "Tag Program Supporter" logo that can be used in sale catalogues, print advertising, on your website, etc. to show that you are a supporter of the Limousin tag program. The logo can be downloaded here or contact the CLA office to have a copy e-mailed to you.
